Trevante Rhodes may have shared in the glory of the win for Moonlight at the recent Annual Academy Awards. However, the actor is already up and running towards his next motion picture, The Predator, which is set to be the direct sequel to the 1980s film.
Now that he's already on the set of The Predator, an interview with Yahoo! revealed an interesting fact about the actor: he's actually a scared-cat growing up.
"I was really squeamish growing up—not too fond of blood and guts. I saw the first one when I was young, and liked it, but I was like, ‘I can't watch any more of these!'"
He revealed that this is the reason why he has held off on watching the entire Predator series. And it seems like he finally did when he was cast for the role of Nebraska Williams.
Rhodes also revealed a little backgrounder about the role he's playing, which is a former Marine who has been enlisted for the Predator-hunting operation. Nebraska is supposed to be the tough-guy soldier, and one we would expect considering what he will be facing up against. Rhodes will be playing the role alongside Logan actor Boyd Holbrook, and their little gang will be a "motley crew" of sorts.
Since The Predator will be directed by Shane Black, Rhodes confirmed that the former will bring a little more about himself in the franchise, though the twist will be that it's set in the Predator universe.
The Predator will be out in theaters on Feb. 9, 2018.
