Fans who have been waiting for something new from Ridley Scott are in for a treat. The Prometheus director's latest project Raised By Wolves is a sci-fi series that focuses on an android that might be a little overprotective of the children it is raising in a post-apocalyptic world. Amazingly, the first trailer for the HBO Max show already promises terror and blood this September.
The trailer opens with a child looking up to the sky as a spaceship flies over them. Meanwhile, Mother is calling for the children to gather around so they could listen to a bedtime story. The fairy tale she chooses is the Three Little Pigs and it becomes a haunting backdrop as the story of Mother and her children unfolds onscreen.
It is immediately confirmed that Mother is an android and that she has been programmed to raise and protect these children who may have a strange secret of their own. Things get complicated when a mysterious crawling creature is shown and an unnamed man is suggested to be the Big Bad Wolf. However, he later points out that the wolf in the story is actually Mother.
We're just as confused as you are but there is little doubt that the sci-fi series will be a lot more complicated than your regular mother's love tale. Needless to say, we can't wait to see this show.
Raised by Wolves stars newcomer Amanda Collin, Abubakar Salim, and former Vikings actor Travis Fimmel. The series will premiere on HBO Max on September 3.
