Rick and Morty dropped a surprise just before March ended with the Season 5 Trailer and fans are already loving it as the show had its hiatus for quite some time and had no news when they would return, until today.
Adult Swim released the trailer of Rick and Morty where it features various key elements that are expected of this season, together with the intergalactic and multiverse madness the show is going for. It shows the classic Rick and Morty madness from Voltron Rick to what seems to be a BDSM planet involving marlin.
In the same trailer, it has the fans screaming for joy as they are reminded that HBO Max is currently streaming all the four previous seasons of Rick and Morty. There is no news yet on whether the fifth season will be appearing on the same streaming platform.
Adult Swim acquired a long-term deal with a staggering 70 episodes of Rick and Morty which means that the series could reach even up to Season 10 or more making it a series to watch out for.
For the kick-off of the fifth Rick and Morty season, there would also be a "Rick and Morty Day" where it is expected that there would be various surprises all over TV, social media, and digital platforms with sneak-peaks, behind-the-scenes, and a lot more.
The animated sci-fi comedy series first aired in 2013 and has captivated many viewers and fans from then on creating a steady fanbase for the show. In July 2020, an announcement was released that the fifth season will be happening.
Rick and Morty Season 5 is slated for premiere on June 20, 2021, at 11 pm ET/PT via Adult Swim.
