Rick and Morty is undoubtedly one of the best adult cartoon series to exist out there. As we're approaching Season 7, this begs the question, just how many seasons will Rick and Morty have?

The Adult Swim show has been running since 2013 and since then, has yet to hit the brakes on Rick's portal-jumping shenanigans with his grandson.

Rick and Morty Season 7 features a whole lot of new dimensional-hopping adventures with our titular characters, this time, with a main focus on Rick Sanchez seeking revenge against the man behind his wife's death.

Any fans of the show would know that this was the pivotal moment when the main Rick (or Rick Prime) decided to build a time portal where he could travel to any alternate universe as he wished.

This allowed him to visit his other variants and the Smith family (his daughter's family) anywhere and anytime he wished.

However, this Season 7 is going to push through Rick's final confrontation with the truth - who killed his wife?

As seen in the official trailer, when Morty walks into his grandpa's lab, the first question he asks is, "Any progress?" to which Rick addresses, "I found the version of me that killed my wife, you just missed it."

As for news on having Rick and Morty Season 8 come to fruition, well, there isn't anything yet, especially since Season 7 is just about to debut this October 15th.

How Long Will Rick and Morty Run For?

The Rick and Morty show is technically the kind of show that never seems to have a concrete ending. It was even compared to The Simpsons at one point, and although these two have some similarities to an extent, the creators debunked the difference.

Former co-creator and star Justin Roiland previously told The Wrap about his thoughts on how long we can expect the adult series to run, "I think the show could run forever. The show could run as long as we want it to."

As for co-creator Dan Harmon, he essentially teased their long-running plan of producing at least one season a year of Rick and Morty:

"As far as the longevity of the show, to me, it just feels infinite. That's kind of the easy part. And I think that might be the cause of some frustration on the fans' part, because my original commitment to just, I think a good TV show is one that lasts 1000 episodes."

However, given that Roiland had since then been fired from the show as the co-creator and main voice of the titular characters, the most recent news we've gotten on how long Rick and Morty will run for is a cryptic summary tease for Season 7:

Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever. It's season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what's up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let's find out! There's probably less piss than last season. Rick and Morty, 100 years! Or at least until Season 10!

It remains to be seen whether Rick and Morty will truly end on Season 10 or not. But we'll be sure to keep you in the loop right here at Epicstream. In the meantime, you can check out more Rick and Morty news stories here.
