The Rick and Morty anime was first announced by Adult Swim in May 2022. It will be an original anime project with themes and events inspired by the original Rick and Morty animated series.

This means viewers can expect to see the original series’ blend of comedy and sci-fi elements with a Japanese anime twist, making it a must-watch for longtime series fans and anime fans alike.

It was also confirmed that the Rick and Morty anime will air for 10 episodes. Interestingly, this is less than the usual episode count of 12-13 for new anime shows.

Rick and Morty: The Anime Previews Released

There’s no official trailer yet for the anime, but Adult Swim released a sneak peek of the upcoming sci-fi series on its official YouTube channel.

The sneak peek is only over a minute long, but it highlights one of the titular main characters, Rick Sanchez, and his granddaughter, Summer Smith.

In it, Rick confronts a fleet of alternate-universe versions of himself, while Summer tries to assist him in locating their target.

While the sneak peek doesn’t show much in terms of plot, it teases the exciting adventures the beloved characters will have in the upcoming anime.

It also features the signature quirky humor of the original Rick and Morty animated series.

Adult Swim released a preview video for the anime, featuring Space Beth as she faces off against Tammy, a major antagonist in the original Rick and Morty series.

The video also highlights the action-packed scenes fans may expect in the upcoming Telecom Animation Film anime.
