Richard Madden Confirmed To Be The Next Possible James Bond

We've seen him as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones, Cosimo de Medici in Medici: Masters of Florence, and even Prince Kit in Cinderella. Now it looks like Richard Madden is well on his way to take over as James Bond.

There have been rumors that Madden is being considered to replace Daniel Craig once the latter retires from his role as 007. Interestingly, a producer from Madden's series Bodyguard may have confirmed that the actor is meeting with James Bond producers about the role.

According to DailyMail, a producer from the BBC show has revealed that a second season is still uncertain because Madden is already eyeing a completely different project.

"We don't know if Richard will do series two," the producer reportedly stated. "It depends what happens with James Bond, we don't know yet."

Although we are hoping that Madden ends up getting the role, it may still be a long time before we get to see him as the British spy. Craig is still expected to play 007 one last time in the highly anticipated James Bond 25 in 2020. Nevertheless, it is interesting to know that the producers are already looking for his replacement.

Madden's possible casting would certainly confirm Barbara Broccoli's previous statement about Bond being played by a man. The 007 producer had previously confirmed that there are no plans to cast a woman to play the iconic spy.

Bond 25 has not yet been given an official title. Nevertheless, the Cary Fukunaga film is scheduled for release on February 14, 2020.
