007: Idris Elba Shares Photo with Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig is set to reprise James Bond for one last time with Bond 25, and a lot of people have been curious about who is going to take up the mantle next. One fan favorite for the next Bond has been Idris Elba, and Elba just recently shared a photo of himself with Craig at the Golden Globes.

While this doesn't really mean anything for the Bond franchise moving forward, at least we know that both Craig and Elba are not clueless to what the fans have wanted to see. Other actors have been said to be considered for the role including Tom Hiddleston and Richard Madden (Game of Thrones), but until something official is announced, all we can do is wait.

Though I think Elba would make a great Bond if he were hired, I'm sure there are a lot of people who wouldn't be so keen on having a black Bond onscreen. Plus, Trevor Noah has a very clever point on why Bond can't be black:

Personally, I'd just rather see Elba play the villain for Bond. Though Bond is considered the hero of the franchise, the more interesting roles ultimately belong to the villains. How amazing was Mads Mikkelsen in Casino Royale? How about Javier Bardem in Skyfall?

Bond 25 was originally set to come out this year, but with Danny Boyle leaving the project, MGM has pushed the release back to Feb. 14, 2020.
