Rian Johnson Posts Grateful Message For Star Wars: The Last Jedi Fans

It's been a year since the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Rian Johnson wants you to know that he is grateful for your support. The Episode VIII director has posted an appreciative message for fans, even the ones who disagreed with him.

Johnson posted the message on his official Twitter account in celebration of The Last Jedi's first year anniversary. Take a look at his tweet below.

"Want to thank all the amazing passionate thoughtful kind creative talented supportive argumentative opinionated respectful open-hearted inspiring AMAZING Star Wars fans for the past year. Getting to hear from & meet so many of you has been the experience of a lifetime," Johnson wrote.

The Looper director should have underlined the words "argumentative" and "opinionated" in his post. After all, Johnson has received a few terse words from fans who believed that The Last Jedi "ruined Star Wars" and were unhappy with the direction he took with the movie. Nevertheless, there is little doubt that Johnson continues to take it all in stride.

Johnson is set for more Star Wars projects after The Last Jedi. The filmmaker is expected to begin work on a new trilogy of Star Wars films soon. Johnson will direct the first installment of the trilogy, which is not related to the current Skywalker storyline.

It may take some time before Johnson could begin work on the new Star Wars trilogy. He is currently working on the Daniel Craig crime mystery Knives Out, which is set for release in November 2019.

The follow-up to The Last Jedi, Star Wars: Episode IX, is scheduled to premiere on December 20, 2019.
