Rey’s Extra Lightsaber in Star Wars Battlefront II Turns Out To Be A Bug

Sorry everyone, but Rey's extra lightsaber in those leaked Star Wars Battlefront II images turns out to be nothing more than a videogame bug.

Last week, two new images came out showing off Rey in Star Wars Battlefront II. Everything seemed pretty innocent till fans noticed that the sequel trilogy hero came with two sabers: Anakin Skywalker's old lightsaber passed on to Luke which called out to her in The Force Awakens and a new saber similar to Obi-Wan Kenobi's.

These images spun a lot of fan theories online with some speculating that the Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber could mean that she's related to the Jedi and with others speculating that Rey would make a saber of her own.

Replying to fan's questions about the saber on Twitter (via Reddit), Star Wars Battlefront II hero designer Guillaume Mroz has just debunked all those theories, saying that the Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber was nothing but a bug in the game.

That's pretty sad news for fans who've been hoping that somehow Rey is related with Obi-Wan. Still, while the theory has been debunked, this settles the mystery of that extra saber in Star Wars Battlefront II and confirms that it won't be appearing in The Last Jedi too.

Star Wars Battlefront II is set to release on November 17, 2017.
