Star Wars Fans Can Now Make Actual Bets On Whether Luke Is Rey’s Father

Star Wars fans are getting pretty serious about this Rey Skywalker/ Rey Kenobi debate.

With the parentage of Daisy Riddley's Force sensitive orphan a central theme in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans are expecting that Rey might actually be related to one of the franchise's two powerful lines of Jedi and now it looks like they can actual place bets on whether Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker is really the father of the sequel trilogy hero.

According to a report by Sports Insights, an offshore book MyBookie has just started an actual bet on whether Rey is really related to Luke, allowing fans to place gamble money on their theories. Right now, the betting poll shows the answer "No" being a favorite with a score of 130. Hamill who has also gotten word of the bet has also shared the MyBookie Bet, jokingly saying that he "could make a fortune betting on this!"

While it is very likely that Lucasfilm will keep Rey in the Skywalker family, keeping the sequel trilogy hero tied to the Skywalker saga, it's also possible that things could turn the other way. Sure the Skywalker lightsaber has found its way to Rey, however Rey believes that Luke is nothing but a myth in The Force Awakens, suggesting that the people who left her in Jakku could be different people.

Still, who knows what twists and turns Lucasfilm has in mind? We'll just have to wait and see when The Last Jedi hits the big screen on December 15, 2017.
