Rey And Kylo Ren Will Have A 'Satisfying' Relationship In Star Wars: Episode IX

There are a lot of major questions that fans are hoping Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and that includes the relationship between the Star Wars sequel trilogy's most important characters, Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

At the beginning of Star Wars: The Last Jedi we get to see Rey forming a bond with Kylo Ren after Snoke (Andy Serkis) uses his powers to create a Force connection between the two. However, despite Rey's hopes that Kylo Ren turns to the Light, the estranged son of Leia (the late Carrie Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) ends up spiraling deeper to the Dark Side at the end of the film.

While it's inevitable that the two face and fight each other in The Rise of Skywalker, fans of the Reylo pairing are hoping to learn what happens to the relationship between the two.

Speaking in an interview with PEOPLE, Ridley addresses her confrontation with Ben Solo.

"What's fun is what's been teased so far has confounded the fans because when I'm in the desert is he in the TIE [fighter]? What's going on? Am I running away? Am I running toward [something]? In the fight, we're fighting each other," the actress told the entertainment news outlet.

Ridley goes on, saying that Episode IX would give fans a satisfying conclusion to the story of Rey and Kylo Ren's relationship.

"It's, I think, a very satisfying story. Because also, leaving [The Last Jedi] I was like, 'Oh I guess we've mined that relationship.' No, no, we've mined it some more," the Rise of Skywalker star explained.

We can only wonder what might become of the Reylo relationship when Episode IX comes along. Let's wait and see.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres on December 20, 2019.
