Requiem of the Rose King Episode 4 came out with some major shonen-ai vibes. Of course, this is Early Modern England, and most characters are doomed by history, Shakespeare, or both, so it's probably better not to get too attached.
The shojo anime is still not as well-received as we initially expected, judging from the popularity of the manga. The pacing is still rather poor, and you might have trouble understanding how Richard and Edward even met in the first place, but this was nevertheless a sweet episode with much-needed lgbtq+ representation, which we don't get often in anime.

Requiem of the Rose King Episode 4 Recap
Based on a supernatural manga by Kanno Aya, Requiem of the Rose King unfolds in the backdrop of the War of Roses. While it is primarily a work of fiction, the manga and anime draw on historical themes, including the struggle for the English throne.
Richard is plagued by visions of Joan of Arc, who tells him he'll bring ruin to everyone around him - and given that Richard III met a tragic ending, you can just about believe her.
Episode 4 sees Richard in a family property in the woods where he initially met Henry, unaware of his identity. To his surprise, he meets Henry yet again, and, despite his better judgment, invites him in to shield him from the storm. The two come quite close, to the point of several almost-kisses. Richard, however, decides to discontinue the relationship. Instead, he lets others believe that he was seeing a woman.
Meanwhile, King Edward announces his wedding to Elizabeth Woodville, which will, presumably, be disastrous in future episodes.
