Hideo Kojima announced his first non-Konami game Death Stranding had been announced back in 2016, but it's been three years and we still don't have a release date for the game. Good news is, we may be getting the release date finally, as Kojima Productions has announced the start of the countdown for Death Stranding.
Check out the post:
The game will be a PlayStation exclusive and will actually use tech from another PS game, Horizon Zero Dawn. There are also multiple big name actors attached to the game like Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), and Lea Seydoux (Spectre). They even have one character who is a model of director Guillermo del Toro.
For now, the entire plot of Death Stranding is still admittedly vague, but from what we can deduce from the trailers, Reedus' character is some kind of specialized delivery man in an apocalyptic wasteland—that's it. We don't know how the action of the game looks yet, but surely Kojima has something spectacular in store for us. I don't know if the company plans to sell the game to players just for the sole intrigue of what the story could possibly be about.
After three years, there's definitely been a lot of hype surrounding the release of Kojima's next game. Let's just hope this one doesn't manage to disappoint when it finally hits shelves.
No release date has been announced for Death Stranding, but hopefully, we'll get it come May 29.
