Red Skull Actor Wants to Play Moon Knight for the MCU

Though Red Skull did make a return in Avengers: Infinity War, he was being played by a completely different actor—Ross Marquand. With Marquand now officially part of the MCU, he opens up about being cast as an actual character in the franchise, and he has his eyes set on Moon Knight.

Talking at San Jose Fan Fest (via ComicBook), Marquand shared, "I would love to play Moon Knight. Because that's kind of Marvel's — he gets compared to Batman a lot, like Marvel's Batman, but he's such an amazing character."

Before Netflix started canceling their Marvel shows, a lot of fans had wanted Moon Knight to find his way to the MCU. Hopefully, with Marquand now having his foot at the door with Marvel, they would consider him for a part. Marquand continues to talk about what makes Moon Knight so interesting to him:

"And what they go into in a later part of the series with his dissociative identity disorder, he has a hard time keeping realities separate from his crime-fighting or if this is all in his head, and he might like actually be going crazy.

"Which, if you think about it, what superhero wouldn't kinda be going crazy a little bit if you have an alter ego? I think it would mess with your head. So that's a character I would love to play."

If you've followed Marquand online, you'll know he's a fantastic impressionist, and maybe his skills would be great in playing a character with an identity disorder. Though some may want Moon Knight to end up a series on Disney+, I'm still crossing my fingers that they actually have enough faith to put him in a movie.

We don't know what Marvel's plans for the future are, but with so many MCU Cosmic storylines in the works, I'd like a story that would keep us at street level along with the likes of Spider-Man and Daredevil.

Moon Knight has not been officially announced.
