Scarlett Johansson Said She Didn't Know the Title of Avengers: Endgame Till the Trailer Dropped

There was so much secrecy surrounding the release of the Avengers: Endgame trailer that even trusted insider sources were slighted by the actual title reveal. As it turns out, even star Scarlett Johansson had no idea that the studio had decided with Endgame as their title.

This comes from Fandango's Erik Davis who posted:

"At an event for #BlackPanther hosted by Scarlett Johansson. I told Scarlett that the #AvengersEndgame trailer was the most watched ever in its first 24 hours, and she was floored. She had no idea it was dropping, says even she didn't know the title of the film"

As it turns out, Endgame was just one of the titles that had been considered for the movie. The other two considered were Infinity Gauntlet and Annihilation. We don't know why the Russos decided to have the change, but personally, I think they should have come with a title that fits the likes of Age of Ultron and Infinity War.

Then again, the way things are, Endgame does seem fitting for the story. In chess, it's said that the endgame is entered when there are only a few pieces left on the board. Seeing that we're only left with a handful of Avengers, the title very much fits.

With just the teaser released, we don't really have any new revelations for the movie. At best, we just know that Hawkeye ends up becoming Ronin. So far, we just get an update on where everyone is after the snap, but no big reveals—which I don't think is a bad thing at all.

Catch Avengers: Endgame in theaters April 26, 2019.
