Other than the fact that the movie has freakin' Spider-Man in it, one of the big draws for Spider-Man: Homecoming is the presence of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man. With only a month away till release, early test screenings have been taking place for the movie, and RDJ reports that the reviews are doing positively well.
During a Facebook Live event, Downey Jr. says:
"This Homecoming thing turned out very well… People have been starting early screenings of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and they say it's absolutely a 10 out of 10. I certainly enjoyed participating in it, and I think this will be one of the big summer hits. Anyway, these L.A. premieres are usually pretty fun."
That's definitely good news to hear. After Raimi's Spider-Man sort of ended with a misstep and the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man was axed after two movies, this version of the wallcrawler looks to be one that we can enjoy for a long time to come.
What find absolutely interesting about this movie is the fact that though it is a crossover between two studios, it somehow manages to harken back to older Marvel movies like the first Avengers and even Thor: The Dark World. Hopefully the movie still left us with some plot points that weren't spoiled in the trailers.
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7.
