Ray Park: Ewan McGregor Sat Beside Him During the Solo Premiere

It had been almost 20 years since we saw Darth Maul on the big screen, so it was a complete shocker when it was revealed that it was Maul who was running the Crimson Dawn syndicate in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Ray Park talks the work he had to go through for his small cameo and reveals that his co-star Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan) sat beside him during the Solo premiere.

Talking to The Star Wars Show, Park explained how he felt when his character was revealed:

"I was scared and nervous because Ewan was sitting right beside me, and then when you hear Maul speak for the first time—and when Ewan knew it was me, he was just like, ‘YEAH! Well done!' and I'm like, ‘I wanna see myself!'"

Park's interview starts at 2:23:

I wouldn't be surprised that Park would have a friendly relationship with Ewan considering that both of them probably had to work really closely when they did The Phantom Menace. It's been a while since we've seen them onscreen together, but with Maul back onscreen and a Kenobi movie heavily rumored, I'd love to see both of them appear together again—even if it's for Maul's small death scene in Rebels.

We don't know when we'll get to see Maul onscreen again, but fans are hopeful that Lucasfilm is not done with their anthology films.

Solo: A Star Wars Story comes to digital Sept. 14.
