Ray Fisher’s Cyborg Not Expected to Return For The Flash Movie

There have been longstanding rumors that Ray Fisher's Cyborg will be returning in The Flash movie. Some reports suggested that due to Fisher's animosity with DC Films and Warner Bros executives, they may be looking to recast another actor for the Cyborg character. However, a new report is indicating that the DC hero will not be in The Flash film.

Mark Hughes, a film writer for Forbes tweeted that the rumors on recasting Cyborg are a lie. He added that the character will not be in the film altogether.

This report comes after Fisher announced on Twitter that he refuses to work with Warner Bros or any DC projects under DC Films President Walter Hamada. The actor also disputed the claim that he negotiated to double his price to appear as Cyborg in The Flash. As of the moment, it is unknown whether Cyborg's absence from The Flash is rooted in the issues with Fisher or if the character is simply not included in the film.

Fisher's Cyborg participation dates back to 2016 when Rick Famuyiwa was attached in directing The Flash. Even after Famuyiwa left the production, the rumors for Fisher's Cyborg to appear in The Flash persisted. Currently, Fisher's Cyborg will not be in The Flash and the character is not being recast as of yet.

Fisher has participated as Cyborg in DC Extended Universe films such as Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. He will once again be seen as Cyborg in Zack Snyder's Director's Cut of Justice League. It is unclear whether Fisher would return to the role or if Cyborg will be played by another actor when the need for the character arises.

The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietty, while the script was written by Christina Hodson. The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, and Billy Crudup.

The Flash will be released on November 4, 2022.
