Ray Fisher Would Want Zack Snyder to Direct Cyborg Solo Movie

Ray Fisher debuted as Cyborg in Justice League, and though he was supposed to star in his own solo film, the poor reception of JL has somehow put the status of that movie up in the air. Fisher is still very eager to reprise the role for the DCEU, and he thinks that Zack Snyder would be a good pick to direct a Cyborg film.

Talking to DC World, Fisher talks about the Cyborg standalone:

"I did know about being a part of Justice League. Zack explained what the overall plan for me was at the time and that there was the potential of a Cyborg standalone down the line. Assuming the story would be grounded and compelling, I'd love to do a solo film. I think Cyborg has the potential for a superhero film unlike any we've seen before. If Zack were to ever come back to direct another DC film, he'd be my top pick to direct."

Though Snyder did receive director credit for Justice League, it was clearly not his original vision, and even until now Snyder admits that he hasn't watched the movie. I'd love for Snyder to come back to the DCEU, and if he has a good plan for a Cyborg film, why not?

I guess with Cyborg being black, he's considered to be the equivalent of Black Panther for the DCEU; I think WB would want to have an African-American director at the helm of the project. Though I think a director's race or gender shouldn't affect his chances for getting a job, such as the weird place that Hollywood is in right now—black films should have black directors at the helm, with woman-led superhero movies requiring directors to be female.

I mean, I'm all up for representation, but this PC culture is starting to cut both ways if you ask me.

Will a Cyborg movie still happen? I guess we'll just have to wait and find out. Personally, I'd be more excited for a big budget Teen Titans movie.

The Cyborg movie has not been officially announced.
