Justice League's Ray Fisher Pleased with Cyborg's Treatment Despite Cut Scenes

There are a lot of things that were disappointing about Justice League, and one of them was the cut scenes about Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and his origin. As it turns out, Fisher was actually pleased with how his story panned out in the movie.

Talking to CinemaBlend, Fisher explained:

"I was a happy man. All things considered with Cyborg, there was a lot of material we didn't get to see with respect to Cyborg's backstory. But I think that they did justice with what they could with respect to the character. Ultimately, a lot of people put a lot of hard work into this thing. There are a lot of decisions that we don't necessarily have any control over with respect to that. But I felt like the integrity of the character was upheld."

It was heavily rumored that Cyborg was supposed to die in the original Snyder cut, and now I'm wondering what Fisher meant when he said that the theatrical cut of Justice League was able to ‘uphold the integrity' of the character. Maybe he didn't think that his character should die? Then again, he was still set to come back and do his own Cyborg standalone film.

Personally, I just wanted to see more of Cyborg's backstory in the movie. It was said that we would have followed him before his accident and got more on the dynamic of the Stone family. Cyborg was also rumored to be the one to explain the origin of the mother boxes (instead of Wonder Woman) since he was the one brought back to life by one.

As a fan of Batman v Superman, I didn't really like how the tone of Justice League suddenly took a harsh turn. Though the Snyder Cut is still something that a lot of fans clamor for, I think it's just best if the DCEU move forward with the story.

Catch Aquaman in theaters Dec. 20.
