His academically gifted child, Futaro, was tapped to be the private tutor of the quintuplets and with his help, they are hoping that the grades of the quintuplets would go up. Through the tenacity and grit of Futaro, the quintuplets slowly accepted him and his help in their studies.

The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬ (two integral symbols marking the second season) is taken over by a new production company, Bibury Animation Studios, from the wings of Tezuka Productions who produced the first season. The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬ has lined up 12 episodes that will be featuring the relationship of the quintuplets with Futaro and how they would fight for their love for him.

The Quintessential Quintuplets is based on the Japanese shōnen manga of the same name written and illustrated by Negi Haruba and published in the Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine and released in English under Kodansha USA and the manga recently concluded in February 2020.

There's no confirmation yet whether there would be The Quintessential Quintuplets ∭ (with a triple integral symbol signifying it's the third) but it is highly likely that there would be a third season.

It has been teased throughout the anime series that Futaro marries a Nakano quintuplet sometime in the future. For years, he has been inspired by a photo of the girl he met in Kyoto and he keeps their photo in his student handbook. In the twist of fate, it turns out that she is one of the Nakano quintuplets.

The series has yet to reveal the identity of the bride of Futaro. With five girls with identical faces vying for Futaro, the choice wouldn't be that easy. Who would the lucky quintuplet be?
