Queen Elizabeth Invited Prince Harry And Meghan Markle, Who Only Made 1 Jubilee Appearance
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in London a day before the Queen kicked off the four-day celebration. They had already announced earlier that they would return to the U.K. for the event with their two children.
"Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honoured to attend The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children," the Sussexes' spokesperson told Harper's Bazaar.
However, they only made one public attendance for the celebration. They attended the Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul Cathedral Friday. They had maintained a low profile during their entire stay in his home country.
Royal broadcaster Ian Pelham-Turner wasn't happy about how the royals treated the Sussexes. For him, they were "made to look stupid" and were "completely ostracized."
“I am furious about what's happened to Meghan Markle. I think this is the most terrible thing the royal family could have done,” Pelham-Turner said, The News reported. "You know what I think the Queen should be doing - this big stick that she's using as her walking stick, herd them all into Buckingham Palace and sort them out."
The broadcaster continued, "I think at the moment I can see the affect of what's happening. I don't agree with everything they have done but I look at what's happening and I'm extremely disappointed. I don't know which person decided that they were going to be ostracized from the rest of the Royal Family and made to look stupid."
