Queen Elizabeth II has remained physically and mentally fit for someone her age. In fact, Her Majesty still carries her royal duties as the head of the monarchy. However, a royal biographer claims that the Queen "no longer looks like a power for the country" as she goes through a "very difficult moment in her life" and as she paces herself through her Platinum Jubilee celebration.

Queen Elizabeth II Loses Symbol Of Power For The Country?

Queen Elizabeth II, 95, has dedicated her whole life to the throne. However, she has to cancel some engagements, especially because of her health due to her age. The monarch contracted COVID-19 last month but had already recovered. But she decided to cancel her attendance at the Commonwealth Day service and opted to have her son Prince Charles and daughter-in-law Camilla represent her.

Royal biographer Angela Levin felt that the Queen is losing her power symbol. She wasn't even sure if the Queen would attend Prince Philip's memorial service later this month.

"We'll see how she is when it comes to the Duke of Edinburgh's memorial service towards the end of the month because I can't imagine her not wanting to come to it," Levin said to Sky News, per Express. "But it will be very difficult to come in that way because she no longer looks like a power for the country. Very hard for her, very difficult moment in her life."

She added, "She still wants to prove she is the monarch and if she doesn't turn up at these places, it will be increasingly difficult for her."

Queen Elizabeth II Might Skip Prince Philip's Memorial Service

The Queen decided to cancel her attendance at the Commonwealth Day due to her health, sparking concerns that she might also skip her husband's memorial service. According to reports, the Queen allegedly has trouble walking and rules out using a wheelchair.

Royal biographer Penny Junor also believed that the Queen might limit his activities that need walking.

"The Queen is extraordinary. She has gone on with great vigor for years, but we have to remember she is 95 and not superhuman," the All the Queen's Corgis author was quoted by Daily Mail as saying. "In other respects, she is in great form. The Queen is fantastic on Zoom calls, but I think events, where she is required to walk or go up any steps are not going to be feasible anymore."

However, some believed that the Queen is determined to attend the event. Also, Buckingham Palace announced that "the Queen will continue with other planned engagements, including in-person audiences, in the week ahead."
