Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released a statement supporting Ukraine.

They were the first members of the British royals to do so. Their fans were not happy when Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy seemingly responded to Prince William and Kate Middleton but not to them.

Ukraine President Responded To Prince William And Kate Middleton But Not To Prince Harry And Meghan Markle

Prince William and Kate Middleton aired their support to Ukraine days after Russia invaded the country. There were various speculations why it took that long for them to voice out their support. Some speculated that they probably needed a clearance to do so because the issue was related to politics.

In a joint statement via Twitter, Prince William and Middleton recounted the time they met President Zelenskyy and his wife in October 2020. The royal couple saw their "hope and optimism" for Ukraine's future, so they backed them amid their dispute against Russia.

"Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s people as they bravely fight for that future," the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrote along with an emoji of the Ukraine flag. They signed the letter with their initials "W&C."

The Ukraine leader was probably moved with the Cambridges' move and thanked them. However, he did not mention the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

"Olena and I are grateful to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge @RoyalFamily that at this crucial time, when Ukraine is courageously opposing Russia's invasion, they stand by our country and support our brave citizens. Good will triumph," Ukraine President Zelenskyy tweeted Tuesday.

Sussex Fans Called Out The Ukraine President For Not Acknowledging Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Like The Cambridges

Some netizens were not happy that the Ukraine leader didn't acknowledge Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who also showed their support to the country. Many of them called President Zelenskyy out for it.

"You also have the support of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan," another commented, seemingly asking the Ukraine leader to also acknowledge the Sussexes.

"You should thank the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry & Meghan Markle before you thanked these two people; these waited for the outcome for the first days before congratulating you, but Prince Harry and Meghan stand with you and with Ukraine long before," another added.

Some netizens disapproved of the Sussex supporters' move calling out President Zelenskyy's attention to acknowledge Prince Harry and Markle. One said the people should not expect Zelenskyy to thank everyone who expressed their concern and support. "You give support because you want to, not because you expect anything in return," one commented.

"@One_True_Prince for your information Harry & Meghan are nothing they are not working royals, why should they get anything from Ukraine's president,  any acknowledgment...they are only good for jumping on bandwagons," another said defending Zelenskyy from those who questioned him for not mentioning the Sussexes.

"Their message was beautiful and so thoughtful you are an amazing President leading an amazing people and I'm sure you guys will win this unprovoked war," one wrote.

"my goodness... what desperation.. her fans are desperate, just like meg & harry. they do it all for recognition. And they never get it. But the ones who do it because it is the right thing to do, the Cambridges, get the recognition they deserve. Welcome to the real world," another user commented.
