Queen Elizabeth bestowed Camilla Parker Bowles the "queen consort" title when Prince Charles takes over the throne. There are rumors that the monarch did it to stop her grandson Prince Harry from possibly harming the Duchess of Cornwall in his upcoming memoir.

Queen Elizabeth Solved Possible Problem Of Prince Harry Attacking Camilla In Memoir?

The 95-year-old royal announced last month a day before her 70th Ascension Day that Camilla would be known as queen consort when her husband Prince Charles became king.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams spoke with Kinsey Schofield on the ToDiForDaily podcast about the reason for Her Majesty's announcement. The commentator shared the speculations he heard about the matter.

"This is what the speculation as to what it might be," Fitzwilliams was quoted by Express as saying.

According to him, there are rumors that Prince Harry might target Camilla in his book. The speculations can be "harmful" but the Queen was "so so right to solve the problem" by giving the queen consort title to Prince Charles' wife.

Initially, the Duchess of Cornwall was supposed to become Princess Consort when the Prince of Wales becomes the new monarch. The title "has no historical meaning," according to Fitzwilliams.

"You'd have to have an act of Parliament passed here and in the 15 realms in the Commonwealth for her to have the title," he added.

"The decision was 'always meant to smooth over the feelings of those who couldn't forgive her, what they believe she did during the marriage and to Diana,'" the commentator added seemingly referring to Prince Harry and his upcoming memoir.

Prince Harry did not react to the Queen's announcement making Camilla a queen consort. He kept mum and broke his silence for four days by championing his mother Princess Diana's work against AIDS/HIV.

Does Queen Elizabeth Need To Protect Camilla From Grandson Prince Harry?

One should take the report about the Queen giving Camilla the "queen consort" title as protection from Prince Harry because as Fitzwilliams said, those were only speculations. Also, even if Prince Harry did not publicly show his support to his stepmother, he spoke fondly about her in the past. The Queen doesn't need to protect Camilla from Prince Harry.

On his 21st birthday, Meghan Markle's husband said Camilla was "a wonderful woman and she's made our father very, very happy, which is the most important thing." The Duke of Sussex also spoke about his and Prince William's fondness for their dad's second wife.

"William and I love her to bits," Prince Harry added. "To be honest with you, she's always been very close to me and William... but no, she's not the wicked stepmother. I'll say that right now."

Also, Princess Diana's former voice coach Stewart Pearce doesn't think Prince Harry is writing a burn book. He believed that his book will not harm the members of the royal family.

"I feel the book will actually be candid, but it won't be excoriating. You know it won't rip the skin off anybody or burn anybody," Pearce said.
