Netflix dropped the first look at Corey Mylchreest as King George in the upcoming Bridgerton spinoff, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, on Tuesday, February 7.

New Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Teaser
In the image obtained by E! News, George was dressed to the nines while standing in the middle of a room full of ornamental statues, candles, and a huge telescope.
Mylchreest plays the role of the young king, while James Fleet plays the monarch’s older version.

His on-screen partner, India Amarteifio, portrays the young Queen Charlotte, whose older version is played by Golda Rosheuvel in Bridgerton.

In the trailer released in September 2022, fans saw the awkward days of Charlotte and George’s early relationship.
"Hello, my lady. Are you in need of assistance of some kind?" George said after clearing his throat and asking Charlotte when he saw her trying to climb a garden wall.
"I am quite fine, thank you," she retorted. "You can go back inside and wait with all the other gawkers."

He then asked her what she was trying to do, to which she revealed she wanted to see the king.
"No one will speak of him," Charlotte stated. "He is clearly a beast or a troll."
"I refuse when that lady in distress is trying to go over a wall so she does not have to marry me,” George said back after Charlotte complained about his refusal to help her.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Plotline
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story tells the backstory of Charlotte, from the story of her earlier life to her rise to power.
It will also feature “how the young Queen's marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton."

Fans will also see familiar settings from the original series, like some scenes at Syon House.
