Professionals Season 2: Co-Creator Hints at Second Season’s Possibility

Professionals has officially come to an end on Tuesday, December 20. Now, the big question is, will Professionals Season 2 come?

The show is the spinoff of the 2012 movie Soldiers of Fortunes, co-created by Jeff Most and Michael Colleary. It took a couple of years before it hit the small screen in October of this year. So, would Professionals Season 2 be in the works?

The Plans for Professionals Season 2

The action-drama tells the story of Vincent Corbo (Tom Welling), a top-tier security operative who protects rich and powerful clients’ interests.

He was hired by the billionaire futurist Peter Swan (Brendan Fraser), who designed the rocket that exploded on launch, suspecting sabotage.

So, will these two’s stories continue in Professionals Season 2?

“We’re eager to produce a second season and are well along in creating the storyline,” Most told TVLine. “We’re working closely with our broadcast partners, but no firm decision has been made yet.”

Will There be Professionals Season 2?

According to CarterMatt, though it can’t be denied that the series has a great casting, with Welling and Fraser, in the lead, the show’s filming happened years ago and is also an international acquisition for The CW.

This just means that the network didn’t produce the series itself. So, it doesn’t have much say if the show will continue, though it fits the content it wants to make in the future.

So far, no order for Professionals Season 2 has been made yet, and given that the filming took place two years ago, its stars have probably moved on.

Welling is now busy on his new The CW series, The Winchesters, while Frasers just experienced his career’s renaissance with the success of his new movie The Whale. That said, he may have several TV or movie offerings coming.

Anyhow, with The CW’s new ownership, it’s not far that it will opt for more international series. So, there’s still a possibility for Professionals Season 2, though nothing is confirmed until it’s officially announced.
