Prince William and Prince Harry are worlds apart, not just due to distance but also by heart. But even if it’s been three years since the royal siblings bonded over their favorite sport or even their love for Princess Diana, some royal fans are still hoping for the day to come for the brothers to reconcile.
However, royal expert Andrew Morton recently said that this is all just wishful thinking. After all, it’s unlikely for Prince William and Prince Harry to ever go back to how they were before.
Prince William, Prince Harry’s Relationship Likened To George VI, Edward VIII
In fact, the royal author who interviewed Princess Diana decades ago likened Prince William and Prince Harry to George VI and Edward VIII.
“The closest parallel is George VI and Edward VIII. George VI adored his brother, like Harry adored William, they were inseparable, but then he abdicated and moved abroad and the relationship was never the same again. William and Harry are in a similar situation,” he said (via Express).
Prince William And Prince Harry Don’t Have Any Effort To Reconcile With Each Other
Morton also said that Prince William and Prince Harry had every opportunity to chat and have a meal together when the latter attended the queen’s Platinum Jubilee. But there was no effort from the brothers to even hang out briefly.
“As we saw at the Jubilee when the time they spent in London was brief, to say the least, there was no suggestion of having dinner or lunch or getting the children together. They will go their separate ways, and the longer Harry and Meghan stay in America, the more comfortable they will be there,” Morton said.
And if Princess Diana were still alive, she would’ve been extremely worried about Prince William and Prince Harry’s falling out. But it’s also highly likely for the Princess of Wales to figure out a way to help her sons settle the score.
“She said on Panorama, and she said to me, on numerous occasions, that she saw Harry as a wingman for William, because his job is a lonely job, and you cannot trust many people around you. She saw Harry as being there to back up his brother, but that’s not how things turned out,” Morton said.
Meanwhile, there are also claims suggesting that Prince William and Prince Harry would become more distant from each other after the latter’s memoir is released.

Prince Harry’s Memoir Won’t Be A Burn Book
However, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield argued that this might not be the case.
“I think Harry is going to try to tell a story about a young man who overcomes adversity — that’s truly what I think this is going to be. He is going to discuss the death of his mother I believe and he’s going to talk about how that affected him as a young adult, and how he turned that emotion into the leader he is today. Now, will his publisher allow people like us to discuss what horrible things he might mention in his book? Absolutely, because they want it to sell. They want those pre-orders to go out the roof. But I don’t think that it is in Prince Harry’s DNA to write something salacious that could destroy his family because, at the end of the day, his children could benefit from that relationship, from anything that is good that is happening to the Royal Family — his children could benefit from. I don’t think Prince Harry is going to burn the whole place down with this book. I think he is going to use this book to elevate himself,” she told Express.
