Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have always wanted to give their children a private life. In fact, one of the reasons why they quit their royal duties was because they wanted to protect Archie and Lilibet from the paparazzi and the media.

So, when Archie was born, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to wait for eight hours before they informed the royal family of his arrival. And it was only then that The Firm released an official statement announcing Archie's birth.

Prince William Angrily Reacted To Having A Difficult Sister-In-Law?

While speaking with Daily Mail, royal author Robert Lacey claimed that Prince Harry was morbidly obsessed with keeping Archie's birth a secret. And his decision not to share the news immediately did not sit well with Prince William.

"According to one of my sources, it's been pointed to him that everyone has a difficult sister-in-law. William's response was to nod his head in sage acceptance. Then suddenly he broke out angrily. 'But look at the way that bl***y woman treated my staff — merciless!'" Lacey said.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Wanted To Have Private Time With Archie Before Making An Announcement?

But in the book The New Royals, author Katie Nicholl explained why Prince Harry and Markle didn't make an official announcement as soon as Archie arrived into this world.

"One source described Harry as being 'almost morbidly obsessed' with keeping Archie's birth as secret as possible, breaching the unwritten contract between the royals and the public. Harry and Meghan had wanted some time as a new family before they presented their son Archie to the world. A brief photo opportunity with a single reporter to ask questions took place two days after the birth in St George's Hall at Windsor Castle. A historic photograph of the queen and Prince Philip and Meghan's mother Doria, with the baby [not yet named] and Harry and Meghan, was an unexpected bonus," she said (via Mirror UK).

Over a year later, Prince Harry and Markle welcomed their second child, Lilibet, while they were in the UK. The couple shared the news on their official website and not through the royal family's social media accounts.
