Prince William and Kate Middleton are not giving in to what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wanted — for them to watch the latter's Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, according to reports.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Reportedly Want Royals To Watch Harry & Meghan
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are telling their story in their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan. The couple has made several statements about the treatment they allegedly received from the palace in the docuseries.
Although some speculated that the docuseries would only worsen their already strained relationship with the members of the royal family, the couple based in Los Angeles, California, reportedly wanted his family from the United Kingdom to watch the program.
"Harry and Meghan hope family members and courtiers will watch or, more importantly, listen to their comments. But they know nothing they speak about will be addressed in public," a source told Mirror.
"They hope it may prompt a greater understanding from the King and the Cambridges of how Harry and Meghan feel about their experiences in England."
Despite the drama the docuseries created, with some claiming it would be the royal family's last straw to cut their connection with Prince Harry, the latter is reportedly hoping for a reconciliation.
"He loves his father and brother, no matter what people think," the insider added.
Prince William And Kate Middleton Reportedly Have No Plans To Watch Harry & Meghan
Unfortunately for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they will only be disappointed if they expected the Prince and Princess of Wales to watch their Netflix docuseries. An anonymous source told People that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are "avoiding" their Netflix series. Instead, they reportedly have their aides watch it.
"It will take a long time before there is harmony between the brothers," a source close to the royal household added. "There is a lot of anger there."
Another royal insider echoed the same sentiment to Harper's Bazaar, telling the outlet that the heir to the throne and future queen consort chose not to watch the Sussexes. However, their aides and, potentially, lawyers, will be keeping a very close eye on the content of each episode.
King Charles also avoided answering the question if he had already watched the show. One reporter asked him about the program at a reception at King's Cross, and His Majesty declined to answer.
