The details of the royal family’s annual spending were just released a few weeks ago. And it was confirmed that there has been an uptick in the number of flights the members of the royal family took over the past year. This is understandable because this year, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton returned to their royal duties after only doing virtual engagements due to COVID-19 between 2020 and 2021.
But while speaking with Express, royal reporter Richard Palmer said that Queen Elizabeth may not be thrilled with the fact that Prince William and Kate Middleton travel by helicopter together with their kids. After all, there are fears that if an accident occurs, the second in line to the throne and his entire family could be at risk.

However, Palmer also said that there is another reason why there’s official unhappiness within the royal household.
“They are vulnerable because then you see pictures of the Cambridge family flying up by helicopter. I mean, I think they've been curtailed with that a little bit. I think the Queen felt, certainly let it be known, that she felt uncomfortable about the entire family traveling by helicopter. I think there was partly a bit more going on behind the scenes. I think there was a little bit of official unhappiness about the amount of time that the Cambridges were spending traveling between Anmer Hall in Norfolk and Kensington Palace, their London residence, using helicopters,” he said.
Palmer also said that those from Prince William and Middleton’s camp would deny the claims and say that the couple didn’t take too many helicopter rides between their two homes. But others would further counter this by saying that it still happened more than the Queen would’ve wanted.

Prince William And Kate Middleton Will Travel Less Via Helicopter Because They’re Moving To Windsor
According to Yahoo! News, Prince William, Middleton, and their three children could travel hell after they relocate to Windsor. And it’s highly likely for the Cambridges to stop taking helicopter rides altogether.
In April, Daily Mail claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would be relocating to Windsor in the summer so that they’ll be closer to the Queen. This report came shortly after it was announced that Windsor would be the Queen’s permanent residence.
Two months later, The Sunday Times claimed that the family’s upcoming move meant that Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be leaving Thomas’s Battersea and enrolling in a different institution starting next school year.
“The reality is, they are quite confined in what they can do in London. The kids can’t go into the park and kick a football with friends. Their plan is to be there for the next ten to 15 years and then move to Anmer, which is so special to them,” the source said.
Prince William Sees The Future Accelerating In Front Of Him
The insider also claimed that the changes that Prince William is experiencing show that the future is accelerating before his very eyes.
“There is a sense of the future accelerating towards him, which is tinged with profound sadness — though he would never say it publicly — because of the implication that his grandmother would no longer be around, the added pressures on his father and his family being under even more scrutiny,” the source said.
As of writing, Prince William and Middleton’s move to Windsor hasn’t been confirmed or finalized.
