Prince Andrew has been making headlines in recent weeks. One publication claimed to have spotted the Duke of York still wearing his Grenadier Guards cipher while horse riding in Windsor. Other royal experts are also convinced that Prince Andrew could return to his royal duties in a limited capacity sometime in the near future.
Prince Andrew Has No Future Of Any Sort As A Working Royal
But during his interview with Express, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams claimed that Prince Andrew has no future within the royal family. Even though he might express his desire to return to his royal duties, Queen Elizabeth or even Prince Charles, later on wouldn’t grant his wish.
“No future of any sort as a working member of the Royal Family. It’s up to the royals if they want to find a job for him,” Fitzwilliams said.

Prince Andrew Could Be Tasked To Oversee The Private Estates
The royal commentator also said that there’s one thing that Prince Andrew could do and that is manage the royal estates. However, it would be best if royal fans do not see him in public.
Managing the royal estates could reportedly be a fulfilling job for the Duke of York. It’s also a private role, which means that he would be able to perform his job without much scrutiny from the public eye.
More specifically, Prince Andrew could focus on the maintenance of the royal estates.
Prince Charles, Prince William Block Prince Andrew’s Desire To Return To His Royal Duties
Last month, there were reports that the Duke of York would return to his royal duties in a limited capacity by attending the Garter Day ceremony. But at the last minute, his appearance was reportedly canceled and Prince William took over his place.
A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace released a statement saying that Prince Andrew would attend the investiture and lunch. However, he wouldn’t be part of the procession or service. Initially, a statement was released saying that he would attend the service because he’s the Knight of the Garter, an honor given to Prince Andrew by the monarch.
A source told Vanity Fair that Prince Charles was one of the people that didn’t want Prince Andrew to attend the procession and service. After all, he was worried that he would upstage Camilla Parker Bowles.
The Duchess of Cornwall received a Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter, which is the highest accolade the queen can bestow on a female member of the royal family.
Prince Charles and Prince William are also, reportedly, the two people who constantly oppose Prince Andrew’s request to return to his royal duties. The Duke of York is reportedly convinced that his name has already been cleared after reaching a settlement with Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
“There are tensions because the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge want Andrew to be kept away from any public engagements. They do not want him to return to public life, full stop. The Jubilee was such a success and they were all overwhelmed by how well everything went. They want to ride this wave of goodwill, not have Andrew and his scandals overshadowing the good work the rest of the family is doing,” the source said.
