Prince Harry was once dubbed the party prince because he was known for going out and drinking with his friends. When he was much younger, he was also compared to his older brother, Prince William, who seemingly acted in a more proper way compared to the Duke of Sussex.

Prince Harry Used To Be A Wild Lad But He Changed After Meeting Meghan Markle

In the book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, author Valentine Low claimed that Prince William and Prince Harry’s part-time private secretary had different approaches when dealing with the brothers. He helped the Prince of Wales steer a course through life, but when it came to Prince Harry, he had a more challenging time because he was known for being a “wild lad.”

“The younger prince was a dashing figure, flying an Apache helicopter, and was heavily committed in the area of children’s health, with charities like Well Child. But he also used to be quite a wild lad. When Harry was young, it was easy to forgive him, for his transgressions. But at what point does a wild lad become a seedy old roué? At the time, it was nothing to worry about: just something to keep an eye on,” Low wrote (via Mirror UK).

However, Prince Harry’s wild lad days died after he met Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry Is Terrified Of Upsetting Meghan Markle

Earlier this year, royal expert Angela Levin also shared the same sentiments about Prince Harry. She said that the Duke of Sussex became a different man because of Markle. However, the changes may be due to the fact that he’s terrified of upsetting her.

“He said to me he wanted to support the Queen, he wanted to support Prince William, he wanted to be there and he wanted to make his mark. He said he might go to Africa and make his mark there, looking after animals that could go extinct. Once he met Meghan, he became terrified of upsetting her. She was the one for him, it was an instant blow of passion and he has to do what she says in his own mind, his language is now Meghan's speak,” Levin said (via Express).

Levin also said that Prince Harry had the power to draw people in because he was funny and charismatic. He was also able to inspire those that he met. And even though these are gifts that cannot be taken away from the dad of two, Levin said that Prince Harry seems to be living in a verbal cage these days.

Meghan Markle Encouraged Prince Harry To Stop Smoking And Drinking

At the start of the couple’s relationship, stories emerged about Markle changing Prince Harry for the better. Since the two dated, the Duke of Sussex stopped smoking and drinking to support his wife.

“Considering he’s been a pretty brutal drinker since he was a young teenager, it’s quite an achievement,” a source said (via Reader’s Digest).
