Meghan Markle will not accompany her husband, Prince Harry, at King Charles III’s coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6. Allegedly, it would be “inauthentic” for the Duchess of Sussex to attend the historic event after everything that has happened between her and the royal family.

Despite Meghan’s decision not to attend King Charles’ crowning, she fully supports Prince Harry’s choice to witness the ceremony.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Decision About Their Coronation Attendance

An insider familiar with the Sussexes told Page Six that the Sussex couple chose to make a decision that they felt “genuine and authentic.”

“They had to make a decision that felt genuine and authentic, especially after everything that has been said and all the things that have gone down,” the source said.

“The words that Harry and Meghan have said about the importance of their family are lining up with their actions,” the tipster continued. “They care about their family, so Meghan is going to stay [in California], and Harry is going to support his dad.”

Prince Harry to Show Support to King Charles

Before Prince Harry finally decided to attend King Charles’ coronation, it was said to be a lengthy process that went on for weeks.

“It’s a decision they made together as a family,” the source added.

This shunned the claims that Meghan was controlling the military vet.

“If she was super controlling, then she could have made sure that Harry didn’t go,” the insider explained. “She’s all good; she supports Harry — they both have nothing more to prove.”

Prince Harry will only go for a quick trip to witness the coronation to support his dad as it also falls on the same day as his son Prince Archie’s fourth birthday.

“Prince Harry is going to support his dad … and then he’ll be coming home as soon as possible to be with his son,” the tipster stated. “For all the people who say they want to be half in and half out of the royal family, this proves just the opposite.”

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, 1, weren’t invited to the ceremony as they were deemed too young.

Meghan Markle Won’t Miss Prince Archie’s 4th Birthday

As King Charles’ coronation day also happens to be Prince Archie’s fourth birthday, a source said there’s no way the Duchess of Sussex will miss her son’s birthday for the world.

“The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” Buckingham Palace announced, confirming Prince Harry’s attendance.
