Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be likely invited to King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla's coronation. However, the Palace was reluctant to speak about their role in the ceremony, and their attendance may still depend on the Duke of Sussex's memoir.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Role And Attendance At King Charles' Coronation

Royal correspondent and commentator Neil Sean spoke about Prince Harry and Markle's attendance at the new king's coronation. According to him, everybody would want to be in attendance "because it goes down in history, suggesting that the Sussexes would want an invite to.

Sean said King Charles wanted his youngest son and his family to be there too.

"I contacted the Palace, and they confirmed that yes, they will be invited, but they did not want to confirm the role they will be playing," Sean said, Express reported.

However, the guestlist was reportedly a "difficult dilemma" for the new king because of Prince Harry's memoir that many suspect, might attack the royals or damage his reign. So, King Charles was still not sure about their attendance.

"He would want his youngest son there and the family, Meghan included. It would be seen as a snub if they weren't," Sean continued. "But it all depends on this book and how damaging that book remains to King Charles. Six months down the line, if the book is still reverberating with damage, he could have a rethink."

As for the Sussexes' role at the ceremony, Sean said the Palace did not confirm whether they and their children would have a major role or if they will be invited onto the balcony, which is the pinnacle of the event. Prince Harry and Markle were not invited when the royals made a balcony appearance during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebration.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Want To Be Present At King Charles' Coronation?

Sean claimed that Prince Harry and Markle congratulated his father. He speculated that it was their way of letting him know that they wanted to be part of the event.

"The office of Harry and Meghan have already sent off their congratulations to Charles, and let them know that they are keeping the date free. Is this a pitch from the Sussexes?" he alleged.

Prince Harry's biographer, Angela Levin, author of Harry: Biography of A Prince, seemingly shared the same sentiment — that Prince Harry and Markle wanted to be present at the coronation.

According to her, when she appeared on GB News, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were making changes in their docuseries with Netflix and his book to soften it, so it won't be that offensive to the senior members of the firm.

"They want to soften the things that they said about [Queen Elizabeth II] and King Charles III, and it's quite interesting because obviously, they've done it, which is nasty in itself."

She added, "There's quite a lot that they've said and done that they now don't think is appropriate."

Levin added that there has been speculation that the Sussexes wanted to make the changes "because they want to come to" King Charles' coronation.

Prince Harry's book has been pushed back for release next year. King Charles' coronation will be on May 6. So, let's see if the Sussexes will still be in the coronation in case Prince Harry releases his book ahead of the event.
