Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Will Watch Trooping The Colour In A Different Area

Queen Elizabeth decided to limit the list of people who would make a balcony appearance on Trooping the Colour to those who are still working for the monarchy. However, those who do not make the cut, like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, could still watch it in another area of the palace.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will watch the Horse Guards Parade from the Major General's Office, overlooking the parade grounds Thursday. They will be accompanied by other royals who are not taking part in the carriage procession or balcony appearances, like his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

The royal couple who arrived in the U.K. Wednesday confirmed the news. Their spokesperson told People that they "look forward" to watching the  Trooping parade "from the Major General's Office tomorrow."

Traditionally, the royals will gather together on the balcony to watch a flypast during the annual Trooping the Colour. Royal expert Angela Levin speculated that the Queen limited the royals who will join her on the balcony to those who are still working because she didn't want Prince Andrew to join them.

When the Queen decided not to include the non-working royals, Prince Andrew wasn't the only one who didn't make the list. Prince Harry and Markle, who stepped down from their royal duties in 2020, suffered the same consequences.

Levin believed that seeing the Duke of York on the balcony would only anger the public. So, the Queen wanted to avoid it.

Her Majesty chose Prince Andrew as her escort during Prince Philip's memorial service putting her favorite son front and center at the event. However, the palace received an intense backlash, with many saying it was a poor choice because just a few weeks back before the sighting, Prince Andrew settled the sexual assault case with Virginia Giuffre.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Had Tense Exchange During Trooping The Colour 2019?

Three years ago, the royal couple attended Trooping the Colour while they were still working royals. Some speculated that they had an awkward moment after Prince Harry appeared to be telling off his wife, Express reported.

Footage from the event showed Prince Harry looking backward and appearing to speak to someone off-camera. Markle turned around and said something to her husband, but he seemingly told her to "turn around," and she composed herself and sported a straight face.

The sighting sparked discussion on Twitter, with many saying it was the first time they saw Prince Harry telling his wife off.

Lip reader Tina Lannin confirmed that the duke said, "turn around."  However, it turned out that Prince Harry was just helping his wife.

Apparently, Prince Harry told Markle to turn around because the music was about to start. And he didn't want his wife to be caught out looking the wrong way.
