Police University continues to take over the Monday evening time slot as the show maintains its lead in viewership ratings.
Premiering on August 9, 2021, the Kdrama series already captivated many audiences' attention as Police University episode 1 received an average of 5.2% nationwide viewership ratings. With this impressive feat, the show took over the ratings for Monday-aired Kdramas.
The hype did not stop there, but it only continued to episode 2 as the program recorded an average nationwide viewership rating of 6.5%, which is a whopping 1.3% increase over the premiere episode's ratings.
And the record just gets better and better!

Police University episode 3, which was released on August 16, 2021, achieved an average nationwide viewership rating of 6.8%. This record became the drama's personal best with a 0.3% rise in ratings since last week's episode 2.

Police University episode 3 recap
We saw Kang Sun Ho in Police University episode 3 doing his best to prove his worth for a slot in the police university. But he has to achieve the impossible, which is leading his unit to victory at the last round of fierce training. It would sound simple and easy to do, but his team will go against the first unit led by Min Kyu.
Filled with determination to win the shooting game, he decided to ask Yoo Dong Man for help on how he can lead his team to victory. The professor contemplates whether to help him or not, but because Yoo Dong Man perhaps created a soft spot for Kang Sun Ho, who is also his online hacker friend Yoon, he decides to give him some pointers.
Yoo Dong Man gave Kang Sun Ho tricky advice which the latter misunderstood. Until the training started, Kang Sun Ho realized that Yoo Dong Man was not solely insulting his ability but was actually encouraging him to do better.
Finally understanding what Yoo Dong Man really meant, Kang Sun Ho gathers his team before the shooting game. With some sacrifices from the members of his team, Kang Sun Ho managed to be the last man standing, which made his unit the winner of the game.

However, one of his teammates got injured. Because of what happened, Kang Sun Ho blamed his eagerness to win and told Yoo Dong Man that he will leave the university.
While Kang Sun Ho beats himself with guilt, a commotion in the hospital happened to which he gets himself involved. He tried to save the nurse entrapped by a drunk patient but was held instead. Thankfully, Yoo Dong Man managed to calm the perpetrator and pulled Kang Sun Ho to safety.
When the police officers in action asked who they were, Yoo Dong Man introduced himself as a professor in the police university. He introduced Kang Sun Ho as a freshman student, making the young man relieved and happy.

Meanwhile, while Yoo Dong Man busies himself with putting the puzzle pieces from an unsolved crime together, he receives a call from his colleague. The line suddenly cuts off, which led Yoo Dong Man to realize that something fishy is going on at the university that is related to the illegal gambling site case that he was passionate to solve.
As he was entirely eager to solve the case, he finally introduces himself to Kang Sun Ho as the one he's been talking to online.
