Pokemon Sun and Moon Creator Inundated with Pokemon Go Posts, Shuts Down Comments

Junichi Masuda has been overwhelmed by the amount of comments on his blog pertaining to Pokemon Go and has had to make a post clarifying that he has no control over the game, Kotaku reports. Masuda is one of the founders of Game Freak, the company behind the Pokemon games from Pokemon: Red and Green to the upcoming Pokemon: Sun and Moon. While Game Freak is the developer for those games, they are not the company behind the Pokemon Go app- Niantic Labs is. Therefore, Masuda can't really help anyone with Pokemon Go-related problems.

Masuda did collaborate with Niantic on the game's music and design, but that's as far as his involvement goes. In his blog post clarifying the situation, he stated "Since Niantic, Inc. is the developer and administrator of Pokémon Go, I'm sorry to trouble everyone, but, in regards to support information, please check the help site that Niantic is overseeing.". He then proceeded to link to the Pokemon Go help site, support site, FAQ and safety guidelines.

Masuda is so overloaded on Pokemon Go questions that he went as far as to suspend the comments section on his blog for a while. "After talking this over with various individuals, I'm temporarily suspending the comments section," he explained. The man is doubtless busy with many other projects and can't field the questions related to a project he has little control over.

Masuda has a impressive resume to do with the Pokemon games. He's the composer for all the games in the core series and has been one of the directors on every game since Pokemon Crystal. He's also supervised, produced, designed and written the plot of several games, as well as doing much more. I think we should respect that he's got a lot of his own things going on and direct any questions to Niantic Labs, who is better equipped to answer them. What about you?
