Pokemon GO: Friends and Trading Features Increase The Game's Daily Revenue

Some cynics might have had fun by claiming that nobody plays Pokemon GO anymore but that isn't the case at all. The game is actually making more money now than it was before, thanks to a number of updates that have made the mobile spin-off more enjoyable, notably trading and a new Friends feature.

According to Sensor Tower, the game's daily revenue has increased quite a bit, from $1.8 million to $2.5 million a day. That is a huge increase in pay and shows that these new features made a huge impact and weren't too little too late for those that still enjoy the game. Niantic is expected to add more features in the future, like the heavily requested PVP mode, which could increase the revenue even more.

New features aside, the game has also gotten more popular after increasing the number of Pokemon in the game. We already have monsters from Generations 2 and 3, so fans are eagerly expecting Gen 4, the Pokemon from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

Pokemon GO might not be as big as it was during launch but the game continues to be popular. It's even influencing the upcoming Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee games for the Switch, which are both coming out on November 16.

Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android.
