Players of the various Pokemon games have received a nice surprise from Nintendo and the developer following the announcement of the new update for the Pokemon Bank.
Since the Pokemon Red, Pokemon Blue, and Pokemon Yellow were just recently released for the 3DS Virtual Consoles, this means they can now be connected to the Pokemon Bank with the new update and 'mons transferred to the Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Interestingly, it seems that the released titles for the 3DS Virtual Consoles also include all the glitches from the original, which means Missingno and the many ways to cheat for Mew are also included. And according to a new video, players may want to be a little wary about how they use the Pokemon Bank, particularly for those who took advantage of the glitches.
A number of fan videos have tried to see what will happen if they tried to bring in the glitches to the new game, as in the case of the notorious Missingno.
Fair warning: better not do it if you don't want a glitched game. Trying out the transfer for the Missingno will yield in a failed transfer of the "problematic Pokemon." If you think that little experiment was fun, then it won't be so much when you realize that some of the ‘mons in your Pokedex will now have glitched names—even just by attempting the transfer.
One player showed that trying to transport Missingno pretty much messes the names and shifts them to one Pokemon over. According to the player, the actual Missingno mon will be stuck in the Gen 1 game, just like your glitched Pokemon names.
For those who were thinking of transferring a glitch-obtained Mew from the earlier games, you'd be disappointed. That Mew will not transfer, dashing your Mewnium-Z dreams anyway.
Leave it to Nintendo to play its own games on you.
