Although Sony hasn't manufactured a console in three years, it was just yesterday that the Playstation 2's last online server was shut down, ending the life of the console.
Final Fantasy XI was the last game that kept its online functionality active, but it's gone now.
Although I'm more of an Xbox kind of guy, I remember purchasing a Playstation 2 just to play Final Fantasy XII.
It may be a sad day for PS2 owners, but there's a bright future for Playstation and Final Fantasy this year. Final Fantasy XV is coming for the Playstation 4, which is a good enough reason for me to buy the console.
