Petition For Alita: Battle Angel 2 Gets 65K Signatures And Counting

People create petitions for just about anything, from complaining about the Game of Thrones final season or trying to get Robert Pattinson to be replaced as the new Batman. But how about a petition supporting James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez in an effort to convince them to work on Alita: Battle Angel 2? There are 65,000 fans out there who are loving the idea, and the petition is gaining more signatures by the minute.

The Alita: Battle Angel Part 2 petition on Change.org was actually started back in February when the 20th Century Fox movie was still screening in theaters. However, a lot of things have changed since then, most notably the fact that Disney successfully acquired Fox.

Alita concluded with a tease at a possible sequel. Unfortunately, that sequel has yet to be greenlighted now that Fox belongs to Disney. This is probably why the petition is rapidly gaining more signatures.

Both Cameron and Rodriguez have hinted at sequels after the first Alita film. Hopefully, both will be back to work on the second film.

Rosa Salazar had previously stated that she isn't surprised that Alita 2 has not yet been greenlighted. Nevertheless, the Undone actress is ready to return as the cyborg once the sequel is announced.

"I would play Alita ‘til my last breath," she said. "I would, and thanks to the performance capture technology, I probably could."
