Percy Jackson and the Olympians may be darker than you remember. We're talking about the stories of Greek gods and goddesses and how the demigods came to be, but we're also talking about Percy Jackson's kill count throughout the series.

It's quite hard to keep track of all of them, especially since the majority are different kinds of monsters that were planning to kill him and his friends, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. That said, how many are on Percy Jackson's kill count, anyway?

Take into account that even before Percy Jackson discovered he could wield the power of the seven seas, he had a magical sword pen in hand.

If he had not defeated his previous opponents, he would not have been eligible to enter and become a part of Camp Half-Blood. Remember that his father, Poseidon, was one of the Greek gods forbidden from making more demigods.

This makes Percy one of the rarest bloodlines on Earth. Not to mention, one of the strongest and most ruthless from the golden trio.

Percy Jackson's Kill Count Exceeds Thousands

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series contains five books, not counting the spin-off novel series, The Heroes of Olympus and The Trials of Apollo.

You might be surprised to find out that the titular son of Poseidon had slain approximately 5000 monsters throughout five books, namely, The Lightning Thief, Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse, Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian.

If anything, this makes Percy an even worthier adversary the more he spends time on Camp Half-Blood and going on quests with Annabeth and Grover.

The first night that Percy Jackson had to enter Camp Half-Blood was the night he also had his first kill right before finding out which Cabin he belonged to. He had slain the Minotaur that killed his mother right before his eyes.

But did you know that his first kill was the creature that pretended to be someone called Mrs. Dodds? It happened during his field trip. If Chiron had not given Percy Jackson the magical sword pen, Percy would not have been able to kill his first two creatures.

Meanwhile, the first two episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians are available to stream on Disney+.
