Disney’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series may be arriving sooner than expected on the streaming site as Rick Riordan’s wife, Becky Riordan, took to Twitter with an update on the Percy Jackson reboot’s filming process. The series has been initially expected to be released sometime in 2024, however, it seems possible now that the first season could come out anytime this year!
Becky Riordan recently tweeted: “Today is the day! While layoff/wrap notices are really none of your business unless you are the one issuing or receiving, I am lowering boundaries for those of you who were respectfully curious”, relaying the update to Percy Jackson fans on the platform. In fact, Becky had been teasing about the series’ “many different water scenes” which yet again indicates that Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 has definitely wrapped up filming:
The tweet reads: “When you FINALLY get to see @PercySeries, you are going to think to yourself, how did they shoot so many different water scenes? Finishing up a scene that requires a huge tank of water and a dive team today. Hmmm. I wonder why?”

However, seeing as the tweet had been taken down, Becky posted another tweet addressing that “wrap” does NOT immediately mean the series is overall ready for release. Check out her full tweet below:
The tweet reads: “All the wishful thinking today! Wrap does NOT equal done. If only I had your enthusiasm and magical thinking, I would wrap the housework and the tax prep!”
Of course, this is not to say that she had falsely hyped the Percy Jackson fans up. The most important thing to note here is that filming has indeed been “wrapped up”, however, we should be taking into consideration that now is the time for the crew to start fixing editing, work on the VFX, and prepping Season 1 to hit Disney+ possibly sooner than 2024.
