After months of waiting, Percy Jackson and the Olympians finally gets its official release date on Disney+!
News about Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson reboot came about in May 2020, when Disney+ announced they will be working to re-adapt the fantasy novel series as a television series.
In an attempt to reclaim its glory from its previous heavily criticized film duology starring Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, and Brandon T. Jackson, the author is finally getting his reboot.
February this year, Rick Riordan’s wife, Becky Riordan, shared that they have “wrapped up filming”.
Although this sends a good message on releasing the series sooner than expected, she does note “wrap does NOT mean equal done”, since fans would still have to consider post-production edits.
Now, Aryan Simhadri, who is set to debut as the new Grover Underwood, shared a new image on his Instagram story, which came from a Boston promotional event for Rick Riordan’s upcoming book, The Sun and the Star.

This comes to no surprise, especially since late 2023 and early 2024 have been previously speculated to be its release dates.
This is due to Disney’s release schedule and ‘complicated’ special effects, as initially addressed by Riordan.
Not to mention, with the ongoing WGA strike, finalizing the series would need more work alongside its writers.
With a confirmed release date, fans will have no problem waiting around for its release now.
