It's no secret that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have an idea of what the franchise's iteration of Fantastic Four should look like and since the reboot's announcement in late 2020, MCU diehards have come up with several fan-casting suggestions ranging from "fantastic" to mediocre.

On top of that, the rumor mill hasn't stopped spinning for the Matt Shakman-directed film with several high-profile names all listed as potential candidates to play Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and Thing in Earth-616. Now, one of the actors reportedly vying for the part is addressing the persistent rumors linking them to the coveted project.

Appearing on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, Penn Badgley, the star of Netflix's hit thriller You is finally breaking his silence on all those MCU rumors. Actor to Badgley, he's in no position to confirm or deny anything simply because he himself doesn't know what the studio is up to.

He said: "Well… No, I can’t reveal that. Neither confirm nor deny. No, I don’t know what to say about that."

When asked if he's met with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, the Gossip Girl star recalls that he might have but it doesn't concern the billion-dollar franchise. Badgley added: "No. You know, it’s possible that I have, but not in this context. I might have met him years ago and I wouldn’t, you know, I’m not sure."

Personally speaking, I'd love to see Badgley get the role because I think he'd make a pretty good Reed Richards. But then again, the ball is in Marvel's court and all we can do is wait for the official announcement to be made.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot is slated for theatrical release on February 14, 2025.
