The legal drama between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard continues but it looks like the friends of the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald star are refusing to give up on him. The latest celebrity to rise to Depp's defense is Penelope Cruz and she is sharing stories about her Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides co-star's kindness.
Cruz showed her support for Depp through a written declaration (via Fox News). In her statement, the Spanish actress revealed that she met Depp when she was only 19 years old and that he has been supportive of her since then. The two would go on to work on three films together and Cruz even stated that Depp has helped her through her pregnancy while working on the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film.
"I've seen Johnny in so many situations and he is always kind to everyone around. He is one of the most generous people I know. During six months of my first pregnancy, I spent every single day with him while we shot Pirates of the Caribbean. My husband and I will never forget the sweetness, protection and kindness he treated me with during every single step of that process," Cruz stated in her declaration.
Both Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem have worked with Depp on Pirates of the Caribbean films and she stated that they both "feel lucky to have someone so special in our lives."
Depp has filed a defamation lawsuit against Heard after she penned an op-ed that suggested she was a survivor of domestic abuse.
