One of the most shocking moments that happened in the latest installment of Peacemaker is the death of Clemson Murn. Given that both the human body and the Butterfly died, it is presumed that the character died for good and it is perhaps the last time that we'll see Chukwudi Iwuji in the series. While having their last breath, the Butterfly said their goodbye to Emilia Harcourt by reaching out to her hand before they died for good.
Speaking with TVLine, Jennifer Holland, who plays Emilia Harcourt in the series, addressed the shocking death in which she expressed her sadness on the character's death and how much she "hated" shooting the scene as it means that she has to say goodbye with her co-star.
"It’s such a great scene," Holland recalled. "They did such a great job with the animation of Murn’s Butterfly reaching out to my hand, but I hated shooting that scene because I didn’t want to say goodbye! I want Chuck [Chukwudi Iwuji] to be a part of the series, if it ever goes on to be anything more, because even as a viewer I love watching him. He is such an incredible actor, so I’m sad to see Murn go."
A lot of viewers were definitely shocked and sad by the death of Murn, who has become a fan-favorite character in the latest episode especially after the reveal in the fourth episode and explaining his motivation on why he is fighting against the butterflies which shows that he is indeed in the right side of the fight.
While it is sad to see Murn go, at least he died in a heroic way and his impact will still go on as the team vowed by the end of the episode that they are going to continue the fight and kill the "cow" to stop the butterflies from invading the planet even further. He may be gone (unless he will appear in a flashback or will get resurrected), his presence will still be felt in the end.
