Patty Jenkins Will Officially Direct Wonder Woman 2

After numerous hints and teases, Patty Jenkins has officially signed on for the unnamed Wonder Woman 2. Gal Gadot already signed on for a number of years when she got the role of the title character, but Jenkins' status was more unsure. Considering the success of the first Wonder Woman, Jenkins returning is quite the boon for DC and Warner Bros.

Though a specific amount wasn't given, Variety is reporting that Jenkins is getting $8 million to direct, write and produce the sequel. It's a step up for the director, and should help her star rise to even greater heights. As long as she can improve on the first film's faults and continue working on what made it work, the second film should be in good hands.

Jenkins' return seemed inevitable, especially when it was revealed that she was co-writing the script with DCEU co-runner Geoff Johns. Seeing her hard work pay off is nice, and it will be cool seeing the "full fledged version" of Wonder Woman in the sequel.

Wonder Woman 2 will be released on December 13, 2019. In the meantime, fans will be able to see her in November's Justice League.
