Ratatouille was truly one of the most awesome Pixar films ever released so can we possibly expect a sequel? Patton Oswalt has somehow confirmed he is working on Ratatouille 2 and even shared a hilarious photo from the set.
Oswalt took to Twitter to "reveal" the sequel's working title (RATA2OUILLE) and revealed what has happened to Remy after he got his own bistro financed by Anton Ego. Take a look at the tweet below.
"First day shooting RATA2OUILLE! There were creative differences with @BradBirdA113 but the new script and directing by Abel Ferrara are fantastic! So excited for you guys to see this!" Oswalt wrote. The King of Queens star also credited newyorknico, who originally posted the photo on Instagram.
It certainly looks like Remy has hit some truly hard times. Let's just hope that Linguini and Colette will manage to get the poor rat to sober up in time for the dinner rush. In the meantime, we truly appreciate Oswalt's dark humor when it comes to a Ratatouille sequel.
Brad Bird has previously stated that he has no plans of working on Ratatouille 2. The director believes that the whole story has already been told and there is no need to revisit Remy anytime soon. Nevertheless, Disney fans are still hoping that Bird will change his mind and come up with an awesome sequel to the 2007 animated hit.
Although we can't hope for Ratatouille 2 this year, Pixar still has a great new sequel coming out soon. Toy Story 4 will be the final film in the franchise and is set for release on June 21.
